On World Sustainability Day, Pia Irell shares how Trill Impact helps build Impact Leaders - people and businesses.
"We believe that the business sector is crucial in achieving a more sustainable world,"
To help each portfolio company reach its full impact and value-creation potential, we provide them with access to relevant competence, connections, and capital, supported by our vibrant impact culture.
One concrete example of our active ownership approach is our Impact Champion Program that we launched earlier this year," she continues. The program is voluntary, but most companies have joined already.
Each company appoints one or two Impact Champions to be part of the program. The profile of an Impact Champion is a trusted team member with the ambition and skillset to plan and drive change related to sustainability matters. The Champions manage their assignment in parallel with their regular job.
The program includes a combination of educational and practical work related to impact in general and, more specifically, the company's impact and ESG planning, execution, and measurement.
Pia explains that by concretizing impact goals individually defined for each company and measuring the improvements, the topic of doing good for customers, the environment, and the broader society becomes more tangible and relevant for management and employees.
" We intend to foster a collaborative culture between the portfolio companies, and this program allows the champions to meet, brainstorm and learn from each other. So far, two workshops have taken place, with four more scheduled,"
