Business description

ILT Education offers digital educational solutions for schools and preschools, with a focus on audio and visual-assisted learning solutions for  students with special education needs ("SEND") such as dyslexia, and students with multilingual backgrounds. Its comprehensive service offering, based on a SaaS business model, is available in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Austria, UK and France. The company has historically had consistent organic and inorganic growth over the years with a high level of recurring customers.

"I'm welcoming Trill Impact as the new majority owner of ILT Education where we together can create a true impact leader in Ed-Tech, accelerating our value proposition by measuring learning outcomes of students, increasing customer adoption and strengthening loyalty among our end-users and employees. This, combined with an ambitious growth agenda, makes me very excited about the outlook for the next few years."

- Jakob Skogholm, CEO of ILT Education

Return with impact investment rationale

In Trill Impact's view, there is a clear organic and inorganic value creation potential in scaling the impact and further accelerating product innovation. Trill Impact sees potential in continuing to develop ILT Education from one of the local market leaders to a larger international platform within digital education tools, in an industry benefitting from rapid structural growth. Trill Impact believes the key impact and investment attractions include:

  • Potential to accelerate access to equitable education for children and students with SEND (special education needs) and multilingual backgrounds
  • SaaS business model based on longer term contracts with public sector clients
  • Niche position in its core geography with high Net Promotion Score and lower than average churn leading to financial stability and profitability
  • Potential consistent growth with continued potential in Sweden via further segment penetration, product offering extensions and entry into new verticals (e.g. adult education)
  • Potential to replicate Swedish model and best practices across other jurisdinctions to capture the growth opportunities internationally
  • Multifaceted inorganic growth opportunity, potential to accelerate product and geographical expansions through accretive acquisitions
